Principal Jessica Alanano brings 21 years of experience in education to her role as principal of the Southwest Las Vegas campus. She spent the first 13 years of her career as a grade level teacher at Gragson Elementary and Robert Tyler Elementary before serving in administration at three additional elementary schools in the Clark County School District. Principal Alanano is a Nevada native and a proud University of Nevada alum, earning her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and two master’s degrees in educational leadership and curriculum and instruction. Mrs. Alanano believes that everyone is stronger together and that relationships matter most. These principles drive her each day to advocate for all students and families.
Mrs. Emling was selected and appointed to Superintendent of Legacy Traditional Schools – Nevada in 2020 where she has led the instructional and administrative growth of Legacy’s three K-8 campuses: North Las Vegas, Cadence (Henderson), and Southwest Las Vegas. As Legacy – Cadence’s first principal, Mrs. Emling has been an integral part of the Nevada schools since 2018, where she continues to provide a lasting impact on the school community. Mrs. Emling is a longtime member of the Legacy family, also leading two Legacy campuses as principal in Arizona.
